Summary
This note is aimed at programme officers and advisors who deal with the preparation of guarantees.
It provides them with guidance on how to assess and explore how a guarantee can actively contribute
to protection and sustainable use of biodiversity, in line with the Kunming-Montreal Global
Biodiversity Framework. Part 1 of the Note provides the context for the need for guarantees for biodiversity
and an overview of Sida’s guarantee instrument. Part 2 contains the technical guidance.
