Swedish Support to the Access to Justice Project in South Africa

Sida has since 1996 worked closely with the ICJ-S (Swedish Section of the International Commission onf Jurists) to support a number of organisations in South Africa in the fields of human rights and legal advice/training. in South Africa. An independent evaluation of the programme was initiated by Sida in 2003 to, amongst other things, access the impact and achievements of the programme since inception, assess the long-term sustainability prospects, and to make recommendations on the continued strategic involvement by Sida and ICJ-S, based on the findings.
