Of all the world’s children, 20 per cent live inIndia. And of the world’s malnourished children,40 per cent live in India. Maternal malnutritionis equally widespread. This problemis not just a matter of food scarcity. It is partof a vicious circle driven by illiteracy and socialcustoms and also affecting adolescentsand women.
