Respect for human rights means acknowledging that everyone isentitled to a dignified life. All rights are equally worthy and universal;they are closely related and inter-dependent. It is essential that allSwedish development cooperation is based on the perspective ofrights and the needs of the poor. Promoting respect for human rightsis one of Sida’s priority missions.
