The United Nations has identified digitalisation as one of five megatrends for the coming 75 years. In September 2024, UN Member States adopted the Global Digital Compact (GDC). The GDC is a comprehensive framework for global governance and cooperation on digital technologies and artificial intelligence with the purpose to ensure an open, safe and secure digital future for all.
