Anmälningarna avser till största delen fall där samarbetsparten misstänks ha använt Sida-medel utanför avtalade syften samt misstänkt brottslighet. Endast sex av anmälningarna avser korruption i upphandlingssituationer. Under året har Sida återkrävt pengar från samarbetsparter i 21 fall och med ett sammanlagt belopp om ca 21 700 000 kronor. Tio polis- eller åtalsanmälningar har gjorts, varav två i Sverige. 45 stycken utredningar har slutförts och avslutats under året jämfört med 17 stycken år 2012. Sida ökar nu transparensen i hanteringen av korruptionsmisstankar genom att lägga ut sammanfattningar av avslutade ärenden på Open Aid. Under året har Sida utvecklat en mobilapplikation som bland annat möjliggör anmälningar av korruptionsmisstankar från mobiltelefoner. Sida kommer under 2014 att börja använda nya metoder, såsom exempelvis stickprovskontroller, för att upptäcka korruptionsmisstankar i Sida-stödda insatser. Förändringar i Sidas whistleblowing-systemet kommer att innebära utökade möjligheter att anmäla misstankar om korruption och andra oegentligheter. Ett tillägg i Sidas interna regelverk tydliggör hanteringen av återkrav från samarbetspart av felaktigt använda medel, vilket bidrar till ett mer enhetligt förhållningssätt gentemot Sidas samarbetsparter.
