Cette évaluation montre que c’est un programme très important d’investissement dans le secteur de la foresterie car sans équivalent dans la sous-région. Il est très pertinent en relation avec les priorités et les besoins urgents et énormes des acteurs nationaux et locaux. C’est un programme qui contribue à la cohésion sociale par la mise en relation d’acteurs sociaux avec des intérêts parfois divergents. Enfin, il participe largement au développement des conditions de vie des femmes ciblées par les activités. Cependant, GEDEFOR II souffre d’une faiblesse de la logique de programmation. De plus, en l’absence de stratégie bien définie de renforcement de capacités et de capitalisation des résultats, le programme perd une somme considérable de données que le système de suivi, bien qu’il soit correctement structuré, n’a pas permis de générer.
